Het lied gaat over de terugkeer van de Joden na 2000 jaar. Naomi schreef de song voor het Israëlische Music Festival dat gehouden werd op 15 mei 1967. Shuli Nathan, een bekende Israëlische zangeres, zong het.
Het lied werd populair na de 6 daagse oorlog (5 - 10 juni 1967). Israël tegenover Egypte, Jordanië en Syrië. Het lied is nog steeds bekend in Israël en Joodse gemeenschappen wereldwijd.
Er is nog een vers dat niet door Rika wordt gezongen. Rika zingt het eerste en derde vers. Het tweede vers is:
