(1) John Lennon était un chanteur, musicien, auteur et compositeur anglais né en 1940, fondateur et leader du célèbre groupe The Beatles. Le 8 décembre 1980, en rentrant du studio, alors qu'il se trouvait devant sa résidence de New York avec sa femme Yoko Ono, il fut assassiné à 40 ans par Mark David Chapman qui l'attendait devant chez lui ; le fan fou lui a tiré 8 balles dans le corps.
(2) Le Smith & Wesson 38, ou Smith & Wesson Military & Police (Model 10), est un revolver de calibre 38 spécial à 6 coups apparu en 1905. Il a armé de nombreux policiers et militaires.
