About this lyric:
The Night Sky by Keane, Music Video and Lyrics
The Night Sky is a song written and performed by English piano rock band Keane. The song was released as a one-off charity single in aid of War Child.
It was released as a download on October 22 and then a physical release and USB format on Island Records on October 29. It was the 3rd of Keane's singles to be released in this format.
The song is written from a child's point of view on war, thus the support for the foundation. It was composed by pianist Tim Rice-Oxley in late 2005 and the song was meant to be included on Under the Iron Sea, the band's second album but was replaced on the definite tracklist on March 14, 2006.

One day I will be Back in our old street Safe from the noise that's Falling around me And we'll release this town from the people Who are trying to knock it down And then only city lights will brighten the night sky And there will be no sound Open the bars and Open the markets Open the banks and Open the churches And we'll release this town from the people Who are trying to knock it down And then only city lights will brighten the night sky Sing with the song of Keane, The Night Sky lyrics! And there will be no sound We've been cowering so long Oh what I would give I ask so little Oh what I would give To stand at the bus stop Or browse in a bookshop To sleep and always be still And we'll release this town from the people Who are trying to knock it down And then only city lights will brighten the night sky And i will be set free from the people Who are trying to bury me And then only fireworks will light the sky at night Song Information Released October 29, 2007 Recorded Helioscentric Studios Genre Alternative Length 5:03 Label Island Records Writera Tim Rice-Oxley, Tom Chaplin, Richard Hughes Producer Keane, Andy Green
