The Amsterdam based band Indian Askin is on a roll! They dropped their debut album Sea Of Ethanol in April 2016 after releasing an EP earlier that year. The album entered the Dutch Album charts at a solid #8 position. The Dutch press is all over the band and calls it one of the biggest new talents from the Netherlands. Their psychedelic, somewhat twisted, nu-punk has an undeniable Indian Askin sound, but also pays respect to all great music from the sixties, seventies and nineties. Indian Askin is also making name for themselves in the live circuit, which started by being the support act for several artists such as Maximo Park, Foals and De Staat. They continued with their own successful club tour in 2016&2017 and played almost every festival in the Netherlands, including Best Kept Secret and Lowlands. Indian Askin is also expanding internationally with shows in Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic and France. They have just rounded up their second successful club tour of the year in their home country. Dutch national radio station 3FM has embraced Indian Askin and even asked them to represent the station at Eurosonic Festival in 2017. The band has also been nominated for two Edison Awards (Dutch Grammy’s) in the categories ‘Best New Talent’ & ‘Best Rock’, and won the 'Best New Talent' award. Indian Askin has been around since 2007. Lead singer Chino Ayala (1987) is a writer, singer, guitarist and one of the producers of the band. Chino has Paraguayan roots, and more specifically he is descended from the Guarani-Indians. His father is an inimitable harpist in a classical orchestra in Rome. Chino has been playing various instruments since he was young. The band is completed with Jasja J. Offermans (1991) on the bass guitar, Ferry Kunst (1987) on the drums and Bart van de Elst (1996) the youngest in the group, on the keys.
