Ruurd Woltring

Ruurd Woltring (Leeuwarden, 14 March 1988) is a Dutch singer-songwriter with a mild form of autism.

In 2012, Woltring participated in the Dutch television program "Niks te gek" (meaning: "Nothing too crazy"), in which people with intellectual disabilities could make their dream wishes come true. His wish was to record one of his self-written songs with the Dutch symphonic metal band EPICA. This ensured worldwide fame.

After that, Woltring founded the online international symphonic/melodic rock/metal cover group FBCV (Full Band Cover Version), in which he is in the choir part as a tenor/baritone singer and in the band part as a growler and screamer. This group is mainly active on Facebook and YouTube.

Woltring was also part of the Dutch singing duo Ben & Ruurd (from March 2016 to 31 December 2017 and from 1 January 2020 to 3 August 2020) with his good friend Ben de Ruiter. They released the album "Voor altijd" (meaning: "Forever"), some digital singles and some video clips.

On September 7, 2021, Woltring released his first studio album "Anders dan anders" (meaning: "Different than usual") as a physical CD, although it was released on November 2, 2021 on all digital platforms.
