Intro:

D A? D G (4x)

Verse 1:
D A D D/G
Here we are, dear old friend,
Bm G A
You and I, drunk again
D A D D/G
Laughs've been had, tears have been shed,
Bm G A
Maybe the whisky's gone to my head

Chorus 1:
     D A Bm G
But, if I were gay, I would give you my heart
     D A Bm G
And, if I were gay, You'd be my work of art
     D A Bm G
And, if I were gay, we would swim in romance
A G A D A D G (2x)
But I'm not gay, so get your hand out of my pants

Verse 2:
D A D D/G
It's not that I don't care (I do),
Bm G A
It's just that I don't see myself in you
D A D D/G
Another time, another scene
       Bm G A
I'd be right behind you, if you know what I mean

Chorus 2:
     D A Bm G
But, if I were gay, I would give you my soul
     D A Bm G
And, if I were gay, I would give you my hole-being!
     D A Bm G
And, if I were gay, we would tear down the walls
A G A D A D G (2x)
But I'm not gay, so won't you stop cuping my -hands!

Verse 3:
      D A D D/G
We've never hugged, we've never kissed
     D A D D/G
I've never been intimate, with your fist
    D A D D/G
And you have opened, brand new doors
    D A D D/G D A D D/G (4x)
Get over here and drop, your, Draaaaaawweeerrrs!

I also trum D and the lift of the E then strum D and lift off the G, but I put that finger on the 2nd fret of the A, to create more of the G chord sound.

for the intro i use a d chord...strum a D a few times then lift off the E for one stum. pause and play the D again then lift off the G for one strum...then repeat. make sense? o, it does in my head!
