Regine Velasquez
Regine Velasquez - Ikaw English translation lyrics
You
You are what God gave The answer to my prayer In all the years Every chance Is for me to love you You are the light in my world A half of this heart of mine There is no second that you can be replace Now and forever it's you Every action I make is all because of you If there's a tomorrow that I can see is because there's someone like you Forever is not enough Just so every moment is to Just so I can continue to To love You
Ikaw

it seems there is an ORIGINAL ENGLISH VERSION of "Ikaw" as penned by george canseco himself. it is much better if you can trace and locate the original lyrics by the great artist and legend himself. you will be doing a great service to the filipino if you can do this.
"Years ago, I was fortunate enough to catch the composer of this Filipino classic, Mr. George Canseco jamming with Atty. Rudy Francisco at the piano, in the old Hyatt Hotel. The great Canseco described how the first release of this song was done in an English version and sold only 5 copies! He said it became a hit only when he translated it into Tagalog."
