John Mayer

John Mayer - Your Body Is A Wonderland Ver 4 guitar tab

Your rating:
"Your Body is a Wonderland" (live version)

Song by: John Mayer
Tabbed by: Chad Fenoglio (my own work by ear)

Standard tuning with capo on 1st fret

Tab is made WITHOUT regard to capo so a "1" on the A
string is really played open. Also, I finger-pick
the whole thing and the "xxx" means hitting the
strings with you hand not muffled. If you can play this,
I am assuming you know what a slide, hammer, palm mute,
bend and staccato (quick note) are and look like.
There are other tabs without a capo but I like mine.

SOLO...sort of. (rythem = one ee and a two ee and a etc...)
This is tricky because you have to quickly hit-mute-staccato.
Ive added the base line in parentheses for no particular reason.

(This 4th "hit" is played as a knock only the 1st time) *

VERSE1
We got the afternoon. You've got this room for two.
One thing I'd love to do, discover me discovering you.
One mile to every inch, your skin like poured cement.
One pair of candy lips and your bubble gum tounge

BRIDGE
Cause if you want love, we'll make it
Swim in a deep sea of blankets
Take all your big plans, and break them
This is bound to be a while

CHORUS
Your body is a wonderland
Your body is a wonderland, I'll use my hands
Your body is a wonderland

VERSE 2
Somethin bout the way the hair falls in your face
I love the shape you take when crawling towards the pillow case.
You tell me where to go and though i might leave to find it,
I'll never let your head hit the bed without my hand behind it

BRIDGE

CHORUS

BRIDGE 2
Damn baby.
You frustrate me.
I know your mine all mine all mine.
But you look so good it hurts sometimes.

CHORUS

OUTRO
I'm never sneaking up again
Now there's no reason
I've got the kind of love in my hands
to last all seasons and seasons-up
Bup bu-bup...(etc)

Thats pretty much it. this is my first formal tab and i did
a damn good job. Let me know what you think or if youve figured
out the second bridge at fenoglio@uiuc.edu

"Your skin like poured cement"? That's a keeper for misunderstood lyrics like "There's a bathroom on the right" Why not "Your skin like pork 'n beans"? Stick your head in the toilet - what do you see?
