Since I'd previously only ever heard Fly Away and Are You Gonna Go My Way, I was expecting a pretty heavy rock album. But as other Lenny fans will know, Lenny does more than straight forward rock and roll. In fact, one or two songs on here are almost basic pop and motown, and still full of great guitar licks and cool vocals.

This album is a great way to start getting into other meaningful music, and [i]Greatest Hits[/i] is a testemony to Kravitz's songwriting and interpretation of other musicians. [i]Rock and Roll is Dead[/i] is made up of a lick that could have been written by Jimmy Page, and [i]Fly Away[/i] has one of the best basslines I've ever heard.

Some people have compared Kravitz to being as cool as Jimi Hendrix, and working with Slash is a step in the right direction, as many years ago as it was. I wouldn't go that far, but if you're looking for a good album that's different, cool and are open to a range of genres, than this album would be almost perfect.
