Het lied wordt gezongen door Paul Giovanni, zanger en gitarist van de band Magnet. Deze band was speciaal samengesteld om de soundtrack van de film The Wicker Man uit 1973 in te zingen.

Het lied 'Corn Rigs' of ook wel 'The Rigs O'Barley' genoemd, is een Schots volkslied. Men veronderstelt dat met Annie Anne Rankine wordt bedoeld. Zij was de dochter van een herbergier waar de schrijver Robert Burns meermalen verbleef.
