# Subject: CRD:Winter by Tori Amos Date: Mon, 29 Jan 1996 11:41:17 +0100 From: Jochen Luig Ok, here's my version of Winter by Tori Amos as far as I could figure it out. It's hard to play Tori's ingenious music on guitar but I decided to give it a shot. This is definitely _not_ the original key, but I didn't manage to get any closer yet. But maybe this helps some of you to get it right. I'd be happy to get corrections and suggestions at twist@uni-paderborn.de Winter - Tori Amos Am G C D G Am Snow can wait I forgot my mittens G C Am wipe my nose get my new boots on G C D G Am Get a little warm in my heart when I think of Winter G C Am I put my hand in my father's glove Am G C D G Am I run off where the DRIFTS GET DEEPER Am G C Am sleeping beauty trips me with a frown Am G C D G Am I hear a voice "you must learn to stand up G C Am for yourself cause I can't always be around" he says C D when you gonna make up your mind -2--0------- -3--3--3---- C D -------2---- when you gonna love you as much as I do ------------ ------------ C D ------------ when you gonna make up your mind F C Am cause things are gonna CHANGE so fast F C Am all the white horses are still in bed F C Am I tell you that I'll always want you near F C Am you say that things change my dear Am G C D G Am boys get discovered as winter MELTS Am G C Am flowers competing for the sun Am G C D G Am years go by and I'm here still waiting Am G C Am withering where some snowman was Am G C D G Am mirror mirror where's the crystal palace Am G C Am but I only can see myself Am G C D G Am SKATING around the truth who I am Am G C Am but I know dad the ice is getting thin Am G C D G Am hair is grey and the and the fires are burning Am G C Am so many dreams on the shelf Am G C D G Am you say I wanted you to be PROUD of me Am G C C I always wanted that myself he says C D when you gonna make up your mind C D when you gonna love you as much as I do C D when you gonna make up your mind F C Am cause things are gonna change so fast F C Am all the WHITE HORSES have gone ahead F C Am I tell you that I'll always want you near F C Am you say that things change my dear NOTE: I think it sounds better if you don't play all the chord changes but let the previous chord fade and play about every second chord.
