Dit is een heel persoonlijk lied. In de toelichting kun je het volgende lezen:
'Pray In Silence' is a song about coming to terms with someone’s death. I wrote it on Christmas Day three years ago when my dad’s health was arguably at it’s worse. He was on medication that was shutting his body down and I thought he was going to die that week. At times like these you wish that you believed in a god just so you can justify the situation by saying ‘he’ll be in a better place’. I don’t believe in a god so I had to fully mourn and come to terms with the fact that I might not ever see him again. But I think everyone prays in moments of desperation, just in case.
I pray for you There's nothing else I can do The black's sneaking over the blue We pray in silence But smile in front of you Made the birds sing to the moon Well, I don't believe in God Oh, please forgive me I’m not the only one But if you can hear me, God Please hold him tightly into your arms You pray for us Hoping that we'll make it through You'll always be there across the room You pray in silence Tears come rushing through Let the wind take you Well, I don't believe in God Oh, please forgive me I’m not the only one But if you can hear me, God Please hold him tightly into your arms Well, I don't believe in God, no Oh, God But if you can hear me, God, no Please hold him tightly into your arms
