Gower is een gebied in het westen van Wales.
Wassail is een drankje gemaakt van hete cider met suiker, kaneel, ginger en nootmuskaat. Er zijn allerlei variaties in het maken van dit drankje. Men gaat daarmee in een kom langs de deur in de Kersttijd. Een proost op het nieuwe jaar. Uiteraard wordt een geldelijke bijdrage verwacht.
