This is my first stab at submitting tabulature, so bear with me. A great rock and roll song, with a catchy opening lick. It is played capoed on the third fret, and, for the opening lick anyway, it appears to be drop-D tuning so as to get the catchy sixth string open to second fret slide up effect (see below). This makes it significantly more difficult to play than if you leave it in regular tuning and don't do the slide up. This is an approximation of the lick. I lack the time to get it perfect. I would love to hear from someone who does get it right. Opening lick as follows.... (repeated in first few verses) [This was created with TabIt for Windows version 1.59] (capoed on third fret) E :----------------|-----------------| B :----------------|-----------------| G :----------------|-----------------| D :2-----2-2-2-2-2-|-------------2---| A :2-2-2-2-2-5-4-2-|2--2-2-2-2-2-2---| D :2-5-5-2-2-------|5-/2-2-5-2-2-----| Chords as follows (capoed on third fret; chords noted as if not capoed) E Well I went to bed .... E And I woke up .... E I got a quarter... E And I'd call you if .. E A Asus A But I don't know why, I gotta .. (repeat same chords for all verses) refrain: E D Like Steve McQueen .... A All I need's .. E D A G I'm gonna make it .. E D Like Steve .. A Underneath your... E D A You'll never catch ... long live rock and roll Dave Jones jdavidm243@aol.com
