Dit lied gaat over de Winter War. Op 30 november 1939 vielen de Russen Finland binnen. De strijd eindigde op 13 maart 1940. Om veiligheids redenen wilde Rusland bepaalde gebieden van Finland hebben. De Finse grens was maar 32 km. van Leningrad. In ruil zouden de Finnen elders gebieden van Rusland krijgen. Dus een soort 'gebiedsruil'. De Finnen weigerden. De Finnen verloren en raakten 11% van hun grondgebied kwijt. De oorlog werd onder extreme temperaturen (tot wel - 43 graden) gevoerd.
