Dit lied gaat over een Belgische infanterie regiment, die in 1933 werd opgericht. De groep kreeg de naam: Regiment de Chasseurs Ardennais (Regiment van Jagers van de Ardennen). In 2011 werd de naam gewijzigd in Battalion de Chasseurs Ardennais (Bataljon van Jagers van de Ardennen). Het bataljon is in de Tweede Wereldoorlog bekend geworden om haar moedige strijd toen de Duitsers Belgie binnenvielen. Ze vochten zo dapper dat Rommel over hen zei: "Dit zijn geen mannen, maar groene wolven."
Adversor et admorsus is Latijn en vertaald in het Engels: Resist and bite. In het Nederlands: Verzet je en bijt (of sla terug!). Gloria fortis miles = de glorie van een dappere soldaat.
