Once upon  a time, I took a little trip to Rome.
I went to spent my summer there, because I felt at home.
Everyone I met was gentle, everyone was nice,
Sun was burning in my head , I didn’t need advice.

Singing,I was swinging, I was dancing in the street,
Everyone was talking with that Italian beat.
Though I didn’t understand a word of what they said,
I could always answer with these words that I once read

Then I met this girl, she was sitting in a bar,
Drinking cappuccino, she said: "Ti va di ballare"
All that I could say was: "Si, ti amo mi amore"
Then she hit me in the face and walked out of the door.

I know that it isn’t easy for a stranger in the land,
