Showers fallin’ down, turning byways into mud.
Can you smell the grass, sprinkled by the rain
lingers in the air like a sweet perfume of green.

You can try to deny the memories of my origins

the only thing I crave, before I step down in my grave.

Every night I wake up, same thing on my mind.
I recall the day when I left my life behind
lured by your promises into this desert land, 
now I’m sick and tired of all these people I can’t stand.

Every night I pray there will come a day
I will leave, I will see my Homeland.
