When I was a child
I used to go riding on my bike

from eight in the morning until night

When I saw the traffic light
turning from green to red

I pulled the breaks eventually
but they were wet and slippery
My bike was like a rocket ship
I closed my eyes and said ‘goodbye'

A car on my right
a bus on my left
the screetching of brakes
the sound of a horn

But I heard no crash
I opened my eyes
I finally stopped
I was still alive

I couldn't believe it
I'll always remember
the scariest day of my life
