Thanks to Andy Strassburg (see below) for some corrections
to my original transcription. After seeing my post in OLGA Andy
emailed me to say that he had tabbed the entire song (he has
a better ear and more patience than I) and wanted to
post it. His great tab is a good complement since I just
tabbed the intro and then show the chords. So here is my
original post, followed by Andy's detailed tab.

This transcription is my own, as are any mistakes.
(Note: I don't have the original recording, so I
don't know how closely this video version is to the
original.)

Note: While the song is sung in the key of E, Paul
tunes his 12-string down 3 half-tones and plays it using
G fingerings as seen on their 25th Anniversary video.
The good news is that it's fairly easy to play this way.
The bad news is that you tune all day if you want to play
along with the recording.

(Note to the note: in the video Paul's 12-string is actually
tuned down 5(!) half-tones and then he capos up two to get
the resulting 3 half-tone drop. Talk about loose strings!)

The whole song is picked with the thumb and two fingers using
the following basic pattern. The 1st string is hardly ever played.

12-string vs 6-string note:
You're not going to get the same sound with a 6-string as you
would with the 12-string, and more than just the lack of fullness.
If you play on a 6-string you will think that Paul is playing
notes on the 1st and 2nd strings that are in fact being played by
the thumb hitting the high-octave bass strings. Examples of this
are the first C note of the Cmaj7 run, the E note in the A-Asus2
and the G note in the C(addD)* as described below.


C(addD)* note: picked as follows:
-----------2-------    Paul fingers this the same as the other chord.
-----1-------------    However, the thumb striking the 3rd string
--------T----------    emphasizes the high-G string on the 12-string
-------------------    guitar. If you are playing this on a 6-string
--T----------------    guitar you can get a similar sound by playing

    This version of "Wedding Song" is the one from the
Peter Paul and Mary 25th Anniversary Video.  Paul plays it
with a 12-string guitar, and this tab will sound like the
video if played with a 12-string.  If you play it with a
6-string, it will still sound good, but not quite like the
video.

    The rhythm is easy, every note is an 1/8 note, and
    you only play 1 note at a time.  There is a pause
    after the A progression in the intro riff, and after
    the Em in the verses.  If this isn't descriptive
    enough, check the video to get the correct pause.

    The order this tab is played will be:
