Another day was de 1e single van Paul McCartney als solozanger. De zanger schreef het nummer eigenlijk al tijdens de opnames van Let it be van The Beatles in 1969. Het nummer beschrijft het trieste relaas van een vrouw op het werk en thuis. De vrouw van Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney, verzorgde de achtergrondzang op Another day. Het nummer werd vernoemd in 'How do you sleep?' van John Lennon die zong: 'The only thing you done was Yesterday, and since you've gone you're just Another Day' waarbij Yesterday naar de tijd van The Beatles refereert.
