in punk rock music

when I was 14 years old

at that time it just 

seemed it went hand and hand

I mean the spirit of both 

things were expression and individuality

for the first time of my life

I knew who I was 

and knew what I wanted to do

with myself

and I knew 

I knew I wouldn't be looking back



We hit the streets

born to run

not looking for trouble

just having fun

but around here it's against the law

to be young

around here your guilty by

suspicion

we meet out in abandoned

parking lots

under the street lights

after dark

armed with skateboards and 

guitars

against gang fight and police states and

holy wars

these are the days



I remember being so inspiried

and empowered

and you know what

i still feel that way

the spirit still fills me

now that they see things have changed

for thier kids today

but I don't buy that at all

I think its about digging alittle deeper 

and asking questions

I still believe that these are the days

these have always been the days



We meet out in the garage and

plug into amps

skate our ramps and listen

to the clash

hold onto the night and try to

make it last

the cars drive by going

nowhere fast

everyones down on

main street 

got our skateboards at 

our feet

were just talking trash

in the heat
