The music for vihuela (which was the primary instrument if Narvaez) was tuned with the major third between the third and fourth courses (that is the equivalent of tuning our modern third string down to F#). In most cases, playing vihuela music (or even lute music) with a G tuning disrupts voice leading - and music in the renaissance was still primarily melody driven rather than harmony driven.
So if you put down anymore tablature from this period, make sure you tabulate it in the respective tuning. This practice is standard today.
