Made a list to store everything I have ignored
Even though I used to not forget
First there were the trees that we planted tree by tree
Pity how they died from gross neglect

Like fools they bathed in the pools
Danced oblivious on the roofs
Laughed while God predicted ruin

Others passed me by, I'm not one to analyze
I've not strength nor will nor hope to achieve
Kept from entering, then dismissed by age and means
Reaching for the last inch of the string

In time, you'll view another
Who relinquished himself to imaginations
No spine, to fault another
He forgot what to learn from the generations he copies as 
he spurns
