Ocean such a bright, clear shade of blue

I was smiling as my eyes absorbed the view

As often happens dreams become reality

I found myself in Puerto Rico standing on the beach

Surprised to find the island had been locked in slavery

It was the last remaining vestige of the ancient colonies

I saw the islanders in anguish and I thought I heard them say

"Exigimos soberanía, Vivimos libres"

I felt compassion for their plight and promptly joined their fight

To overthrow the empire and take back all their rights
