Hoora! This is the 'main rift' to the kick-a$$ movie Titanic (1997). It appears several times in the movie, including as a pipes solo in 'Hymn to the Sea', which is where I tabbed this from. Take it slow and listen to the timing off the soundtrack. e------------------------------------------------------------------ B-------10--10h12---12----10-9-9-10---15---12---10---8-----5---3--- G--12-------------------------------------------------------------- D------------------------------------------------------------------ A------------------------------------------------------------------ E------------------------------------------------------------------ e--------------------------------------------------------------------- B-------10---10h12---12----10-9-9-10--15---12---15---17b--15--12s11s10 G--12----------------------------------------------------------------- D--------------------------------------------------------------------- A--------------------------------------------------------------------- E--------------------------------------------------------------------- e-----10--12--14--12-10------10--10h12--10-------------------------- B--12--------------------12-----------------12s10------10h12---10--- G--------------------------------------------------12--------------- D------------------------------------------------------------------- A------------------------------------------------------------------- E------------------------------------------------------------------- e---------------------------------------------------------------- B---------------------------------------------------------------- G--12---10---8---7--7---7s9------7---7s9----11----------------12- D---------------------------------------------------------------- A---------------------------------------------------------------- E---------------------------------------------------------------- That's about it. The timing isn't easy, I've tried to represent it as best I can, but use your own judgement. This piece appears elsewhere in the movie, usually altered a little. Add in slides, pulls and short notes as you see fit. Another Version of the same piece: When the rift is sung by the etheral voice, it's a little lower. It sounds more like: e--------------------------------------------------------------- B-------7--7h9---9---7-6-6-7---12----9---7---5-----2---0-------- G--9------------------------------------------------------------ D--------------------------------------------------------------- A--------------------------------------------------------------- E--------------------------------------------------------------- e----------------------------------------------------------------- B-------7--7h9---9---7-6-6-7---12----9---12---14b----12---9---8s7- G--9-------------------------------------------------------------- D----------------------------------------------------------------- A----------------------------------------------------------------- E----------------------------------------------------------------- e-----7---9---12--9---7-----7---7h9--7-------------------------- B--9---------------------9--------------9s7-------7h9--7-------- G---------------------------------------------9----------------- D--------------------------------------------------------------- A--------------------------------------------------------------- E--------------------------------------------------------------- e---------------------------------------------------------------- B---------------------------------------------------------------- G--9---8---6---5--5---5s7------5---5s7----10----------------11--- D---------------------------------------------------------------- A---------------------------------------------------------------- E---------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew Martin andmarti@unixg.ubc.ca
