'The longest day' is de dag dat de geallieerden landen op de kust van Normandie. Datum: 6 juni 1944. Er zijn hierover vele films gemaakt. Ook een film met dezelfde titel in 1962. Een echte klassieker, gebaseerd op het boek 'The longest Day' van de schrijver Cornelius Ryan uitgegeven in 1959. Die dag staat in de geschiedenis bekend als D-Day.
De youtube clip toont beelden uit de film 'Saving Private Ryan' met Tom Hanks in de hoofdrol.
Een film die zeker de moeite waard is om te zien. Verkrijgbaar op DVD.
