Don't worry too much about the tabbed bits in the verses, the sludge should cover them up. All the chords are fifths, let ring where appropriate. At many points in the song you can play either single notes or chords depending upon what you fancy. If you're playing as a band the bassist can play the root and the guitarist the fifth if you want to be lazy. I've tabbed this in normal tuning, but drop D may make it (even) easier. If you want to do an acoustic (!) version of this the full chords are Am, Bbmaj, Cmaj, Dm, Fmaj, Gmaj, instead of fifths Intro (half speed) A5 G5 D--7-7-7-------------------5-5-5 A--7-7-7-----5-7-8-------5-5-5 (x4) E--5-5-5-------------8----3-3-3 Tempo increase G5 F5 G5 A5 G5 F5 G5 D--5-5--3--5---7---5--3---5 A--5-5--3--5---7---5--3---5 (x3) E--3-3--1--3---5---3--1---3 G5 (pick scrape) Verse D5 B----------------6-5---------------- G--7-7-7------------7-5-----5---- D--7-7-7------------------7--------(x4) A--5-5-5---------------------------- E------------------------------------- Pre-Chorus F5 (bass play root, guitar fifth) D--3-3-3---------------------- A--3-3-3--1--3--5--3--1--3 (x2) E--1-1-1---------------------- G5 A5 Bb5 Chorus (x2) D5 C5 G---------7-------------5----- D-----7-----7------5------5-- A--5------------3-------------- E------------------------------- Bb5 A5 D--------8-------------7----- A-----8-----8------7-----7-- E--6------------5------------ G5 F5 G5 A5 G5 F5 G5 (bass play root, guitar 5th) D--5-5-5---3---5---7--5---3---5-- A--5-5-5---3---5---7--5---3---5-- (x2) E--3-3-3---1---3---5--3---1---3-- Verse Pre-Chorus Chorus Chorus (variation) This time round don't play the G5 riff twice, play it once then go to a D5 chord and let the notes ring out: G5 G5 D--5-5-5-------------------5-5-5- A--5-5-5-3-5-7-5-3-5---5-5-5- E--3-3-3-------------------3-3-3- D5 D----7----7----7- A--5----5---5---- E------------------ Hang around on the D chord for a few bars, then go to the middle bit Middle F5 D5 F5 D5 F5 D5 G5 (pick scrape) (if you are playing in drop D play the lowest F5 and D5 you can) Verse (only x2 this time, not x4) Pre-Chorus Chorus (x8) (from the third time onward stick in a short solo - although it should be barely audible through the dirt) End on G5 Corrections welcome
