Some riffs repeat after the bridge but they're all tabbed above. I
think you can figure out how to put it together.

v4-B

Stars-Bass tab

Hum-You'd Prefer an Astronaut

This is the first tab I've written, but this is a relatively easy song
without too many riffs to memorize...

Dropped-D tuning (D,A,D,G)

Guitar does intro, when dist. kicks in this riff begins
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--------77-77------------------------------------------------------|
D|--0-02h4-----------------------------------------------------------|

At 1:55 or when Chorus begins it switches to this
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|----------------------------------------------------------77-77----|
D|5-5555555444444440-002h4h20002h4h2-5-5555555444444440-02h4---------|

Bridge-repeats until Chorus riff comes back
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--0-00200400-02h4--------------------------------------------------|

All the riffs used throughout the song are there, just figure out
how many times they're used and you've figured out the song...

Bass Tab
transcribed by LaR.

dropped d tuning

okay. this bassline is a little more than what most of you're hearing. it's more than just three chords. once again... hum
is being underestimated. turn your amp off and listen to it a couple of times before you try to play along... that always
helps unless you're some sort of guitar prodigy. familiarize yourself with it first. feel the bass. be the bass...

you should hear that it's climbing with matt's voice...

g-----------------------------------------------
d-----------------------------------------------
a--------------------------0-- hammer onto 3--5-(slides to 7 on second time around, just listen for it)
d--0--hammer onto 2--4--5-----------------------

then on the third verse he settles into this riff that everyone thought was the only one in the song...

g---------------------
d---------------------
a---------------------
d--0--2 hammer on 4---

the famous riff: i thought you'd be there holding daisies...

g--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
d--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
a-----------------------------vvv only attack the string once vvv--------------------------------
d--5--4--0--2 hammer on 4--0--2 hammer 4 then release and then release 2... kinda like a finger tap... not really though

before the little stops, i hear jeff chording at the 5 fret. an open d sounds better with a three piece though. take your
pick.

just listen and you'll figure it out... if not... you should be ashamed of yourself. go and sulk.

here's a cool little run he does between verses...

g----------------------------------------------------
d--------------------------------0 hammer on 2--0--2-
a-----------------0 hammer on 2----------------------
d--2 hammer on 4-------------------------------------

thats pretty much it. have fun with it. i'm 100% sure that my bass tabs are right, so don't argue. heh heh...

but... if you wanna bitch, complain, or if you just wanna tell me how cool i am, just e-mail me at poseur_tweet@hotmail.com.

thank you, drive through.
