I've seen many different versions of this and I tried playing a few and they just didnt sound right. I think this is correct but I may be wrong. You must drop D tune then tune back a half a step.

i'm pretty sure thats how you play most of the song, i'm not quite sure what the distortion part is but its hard to hear to hear whats going on.
