Fall Out Boy - I'm Like a Lawyer (Me & You) Lyrics

Last Years Wishes,
Are This Years Apologies,
Every Last Time I Come Home,
I Take My Last Chance To Burn a Bridge Or Two,
I Only Keep Myself This Sick In The Head,
Because I Know How the Words Get You,

We're The New Face Of Failure,
Prettier and Younger,
But Not Any Better Off,
Bulletproof Loneliness,
(At Best, at Best)

Me And You, Setting In A Honeymoon,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
Me And You, Setting In A Honeymoon,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
If I Woke Up Next To You,

Collect The Bad Habits,
That You Couldn't Bear To Keep,
Out Of The Woods, But I Love,
A Tree, I Used To Lay Beneath,
Kissed Teeth Stained Red
From A Sour Bottle Baby Girl,
With Eyes The Size Of Baby Worlds,

We're The New Face Of Failure,
Prettier and Younger,
But Not Any Better Off,
Bulletproof Loneliness,
(At Best, at Best)

Me And You, Setting In A Honeymoon,

If I Woke Up Next To You,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
Me And You, Setting In A Honeymoon,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
If I Woke Up Next To You,

Me And You, Setting In A Honeymoon,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
Me And You, Setting In A Honeymoon,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
If I Woke Up Next To You,

The Best Way To Make It Through,
With Hearts And Wrists Intact,
Is To Realize,
2 Out Of 3 Ain't Bad, Ain't Bad

Me And You, Setting In A Honeymoon,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
Me And You,
Honeymoon,
Me And You,
Honeymoon,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
If I Woke Up Next To You,
Me And You,
Honeymoon,
Me And You,
Honeymoon,
If I Woke Up Next To You,

...Honeymoon

Fall Out Boy - I'm Like A Lawyer (Me & You) Review

Fall Out Boy might be running a little dry on hits, with this being the fourth single from their Infinity On High album, but 'I'm Like A Lawyer...(Me And You)' should keep the emo clans satisfied a little longer while Wentz and co prepare to head back to the studio.

While it may have a title grammatically nightmarish enough to match 'Thks Fr Th Mmrs' and 'This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race' in the sub-editing horror stakes, it lacks the punch and sheen of the earlier releases. Stump's strained vocal stylings don't suit the softer tempo of the track, while the tune is just a little too snoozy and whiny to be listened to repeatedly.

In the context of the album, the track probably adds a little breathing space between the guitar thrashers and head bangers, but as a single it lacks the panache and sparkle to make it at all memorable.

It's a fair enough stab at an alternative musical style, but perhaps the boys should stick to the power-pop anthems that saw them shoot to the top of the rock tree in the first place.
