Aeon is een woord met diverse betekenissen. Het is in ieder geval een lang durige periode.

Deze zin, ontleend aan de Engelse Wikipedia, heeft wellicht betekenis voor het lied: "After each man's mortal life ends, he is judged worthy of aeonian life or aeonian punishment." Met andere woorden: als iemands leven eindigt, wordt hij geoordeeld of hij recht heeft op een lange periode van straf of een lange periode van leven. In tegenstelling tot de traditionele Christelijke opvatting, die zegt dat de straf of het leven eeuwig duurt, geeft deze zin aan dat de periode weliswaar lang duurt, maar eindigt. Deze Christelijke opvatting beroept zich op 1 Cor. 15 vs 28 dat zegt dat daarna alles en iedereen volledig door God beheerst wordt.

Het lied is een reis naar Aeon, waar het oordeel geveld zal worden.
