The terrible silence
Announces me
The coming of armies
But no one will flee
I stand and wait
With my sword drawn
For the first enemy
To answer my call

The ground starts to tremble
Hear the pounding of hooves
The clashing of METAL
Cries of wildmen and fools
I see the first spearmen
Glancing over the hill
I see death in their eyes
Now it's time to kill

Thousands and thousands are storming down on us
Screamin and hurling
Pointing their weapons at us
Shiny knights in armour
With their cavalry
Are followed by pikemen
And heavy infantry

Our arrows flew into their hordes
Killing and wounding man and horse

The first one who met with me
He drew his final breath
As I had driven
My sword right through his head
Second enemy
Was pierced by my dagger
His blood mixed with mine
A boy too young to die

I struggled through the battlefield
Leaving stains of blood on steel

I pray upon the strength
Of my arm
To make it through this battle
I pray upon the strength
Of my sword
I pray that it will hold

At the end of the day
The grass was coloured red
The enemy was on the run
They left their wounded for dead

The field was filled with broken weapons
Lying there to rust
Bodies were pillaged
Serving purpose and lust

Wounded were crying out in pain
They're screaming and driving me insane
