'The verdeant breas of Screen' betekent 'De groene heuvels van Screen". Men neemt aan dat Screen verwijst naar Ballinascreen een plaatsje in Noord-Ierland. Officieel heet het stadje Draperstown, maar de plaatselijke bevolking noemt het vaak Ballinascreen oftewel in het Iers: Baile na Scríne (= stad van de schrijn).

Overigens is het stadje bekend geworden door een plaatselijke dokter (Dr. Kelly) die zijn patiënten ether liet snuiven, hetgeen aangename bijwerkingen had. Soms stonden hele rijen mensen te wachten om de met ether aangemaakte drank te kopen. Vooral de armen hadden belangstelling. Heel wat goedkoper dan de dure whiskey. Uiteraard werd dit verboden.
Dat het niet geheel zonder risico is, blijkt wel uit dit citaat: "chronic gastritis, deaths from overdosage, and fatal burns from smoking while drinking–– for ether is extremely flammable."
Een bevriende dokter, die ooit Dr. Kelly bezocht schreef:"De hele hoofdstraat ruikt naar een operatiekamer!"
