Excellent album! This is the first album after Cliff Burton's death, and all though Metallica's best line-up with Burton, I feel this is either one the greatest, or the greatest. Now, let's see, here's the tracks:

(1.)Blackened
Rating: 9/10
Commentary: The intro is quite catchy, as is the solo, plus the drumming is rather nice as well.

(2.)...and Justice For All
Rating: 9.5/10
Commentary: A highlight of the album, definetly. It may be rather unpopular, but I consider it to be the best. A rather long song, but I like long songs. Excellent intro.

(3.)Eye of the Beholder
Rating: 8.5/10
Commentary: Good song. I believe the best portion is the lyrics. Hetfield is amazing at writing songs.

(4.)One
Rating: 10/10
Commentary: Gold! Pure gold! This is not only the most popular song off the album, but also one of the best. My personal favorite. Drumming is some of the best Lars has to offer, and a very talented guitar solo. Arguably the best intro on the album.

(5.)The Shortest Straw
Rating: 9/10
Commentary: Good song. Hetfield strikes back with awesome lyrics! The chorus is catchy, also.

(6.)Harvester of Sorrow
Rating: 9.5/10
Commentary: Superb! Excellent drum beat. I love the lyrics, and Kirk's guitar part.

(7.)The Frayed Ends of Sanity
Rating: 10/10
Commentary: Purely Awesome! One of my favorite intros off the album, and a catchy chorus! The solo is my favorite on the album, even though Kirk stayed up really late a night before a concert trying to stay awake and absent-mindedly created it, it still is my favorites.

(8.)To Live Is To Die
Rating: 10/10
Commentary: I love it! Long song, but a GOOD long song. I believe this was in tribute to Cliff, because the Memorial solo is in it, which is my favorite Metallica riff of all time.

(9.)Dyers Eve
Rating: 8.5/10
Commentary: Good song, about rebellion from one's parents, and one of the greatest solos ever.

Overall, the best album ever created, no offense to Puppets, Kill, Lightning, or Black, This just caught my ear the best. Although, if you are a bass player or listen to bass in songs, you face a slight disapointment. The bass is either extremely inaudible, or Jason just didn't record in the album, because I can't hear any. Also, the album art is one of the best, symbolizing Lady Justice in tatters. Sound quality is good, and this album just rocks. Believe me, it's worth the money!

In my opinion, this was the last Metallica album. I don't know what the junk that came after this was, but this is a great solid album with no filler tunes. I just burned it (sorry Lars, but I bought the cassette in the 80's and I'm not about to donate to your unworthy fund anymore) and cannot believe how well this album is arranged. Master of Puppets had a great full sound, and this album tops it for sound quality, the drums are amazing and the guitar is just sooo heavy. It just sounds like the producer and band really gelled, so they got an incredibly full sound without losing any of the heavy element. The leads and rhythms on this album are just amazing, so definitely pick it up and give it a listen. If you haven't ever heard this album or the few that came before it, it's time to give them a listen. If you're a Metallica fan from back in the days, listen to it again and relive the memory of the mighty Metallica.
