The Hives - Tick Tick Boom Lyrics Yeah (3x) I was right all along Yeah (3x) You come tagging along Exhibit A On a tray What you say Ends up thrown in your face Exhibit B What you see Well that's me I'll put you back in your place Yeah I've done it before And I can do it some more So what you waiting for? Yeah I was right all along Chorus You know I've done it before And I can do it some more I've got my eye on the score I'm gonna cut through the floor It's too late It's too soon Or is it Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick ... Boom!! Yeah (3x) I was right you were wrong Yeah (3x) Going, going you're gone! I saw you yesterday, waiting too much Till it slipped through your hands And then you stagger to your feet and out the door 'Coz there's no second chance! Chorus Now you come crying to me But it's too late! The man you're proud to be But it's too late! Get your head out of the sand But it's too late!! It's too late, Too late ! (3x) Yeah! But it's too late! (2x) Get your head out of the sand, But it's too late! Chorus It's too late It's too soon It's too late It's too soon It's too late It's too soon Or is it ... Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick.... Boom!!! After they lent their riffing skills to the Timbaland album and hooked up with the Neptunes, it was tempting to imagine that The Hives were about to undergo a ghetto fabulous makeover. Would the Swedes swap their sharply-tailored suits for oversized Sean John T-shirts? Would Howlin' Pete Almqvist start to rap? Would Gwen Stefani sing the hook on one of the lesser album tracks? Honest to goodness, our minds ran amok. But 'Tick Tick Boom', the first single from the Swedes' forthcoming Black and White Album, showcases a slight sonic modification rather than a radical musical reinvention. There are some subtle electro blips during the middle 8, and producer Dennis Herring really goes to town with an exploding bomb sound effect (Tick... Tick... Booooom! Geddit?), but the main ingredients are classic Hives: a frenetic garage-rock beat, buzz-saw riffs and Howlin' Pete Almqvist's inimitable wail. The whole effect is scuzzier than a snack from a Hackney kebab shop, but just as tasty. source digitalspy.co.uk
