Twilight of the thunder god betekent hier de ondergang van de god van de donder. En dat is Thor. Thor die altijd afgebeeld wordt met zijn hamer, die bergen kan doorklieven. In zijn strijd met Jörmungandr, een monsterachtige slang, sterven beiden. In de Noorse mythologie vinden een aantal gebeurtenissen plaats, waaronder een enorm gevecht. Tijdens die gebeurtenissen, die Ragnarök wordt genoemd, sterven diverse goden waaronder Thor, maar ook Odin en Freya en anderen.

Ragnarök betekent: noodlot van de goden of ondergang (twilight) van de goden.
