Dit lied gaat het 369ste regiment dat voornamelijk bestond uit Afrikaans/Amerikaanse soldaten en soldaten uit Puerto Roco, Cuba, Guyane. Portugal, Canada en nog meer. Dit regiment werd de Harlem Hellfighters genoemd. De bijnaam was Men of Bronze. Deze eenheid vocht niet samen met de Amerikaanse troepen, De gewone Amerikaanse soldaten wilden eigenlijk niets met hen te maken hebben. Racisme vierde hoogtij.
Een eenheid vocht nooit langer dan 2 weken aan het front. Dan werd er een pauze ingelast en namen andere eenheden het over. Dus een soort roulatie systeem. De Hellfighters bleven langdurig aan het front. 191 dagen maar liefst! Ruim 6 maanden!
Hellfighters hadden ook een band. De muziek die ze speelden was voornamelijk om het moraal van de manschappen op te krikken.
Na de eerste WO werden de manschappen verspreid over andere regimenten, maar werd opnieuw geinstalleerd op 15 mei 1942: de tweede WO.
Feit: dit regiment was de eerste die de Rijn over ging en Duitsland binnentrok.
