Hij zei het als volgt: ".....should be credited as a Lennon/Ono song. A lot of it—the lyric and the concept—came from Yoko, but in those days I was a bit more selfish, a bit more macho, and I sort of omitted her contribution, but it was right out of Grapefruit."
Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you'll try And no hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say I'm a dreamer But I am not the only one Maybe some day you will join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger Or brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one And maybe someday, someday you will join us And the world will be as one You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not, I'm not the only one Maybe someday, someday you will join us And the world will be as one, will be as one Will be as one, mmm
