I remember where I was the first time I saw Elvis

In our living room on our black and white tv

He sang Blue Suede shoes and when the song was over

I knew things would never be the same for me

I grew up in a house where the doors were always open

Where a stranger is just someone I did not know

With Dreams of far off places and old guitars

Fell asleep listening to the all night radio

Now the rooms in this old house are all empty

Granddad died and left me his old chevy
