There's a man who looks like Donald trump

In front of me in the communion line

I know that I'm supposed to keep my mind on higher things

But his hair looks like a helmet of gold

Put on by a three year old

And nothing seems to make it move

So I can't help wondering:

Catholic school, 2nd grade

The time for first communion came

Me and Sam led the way to form the line out front

Sam stuck his tongue out for the bread

I took mine in my hand in stead

But we both hesitated when they said

One day me and my teenage son

Were reading a book that was given to us

A couple tips for growing up

That's what it was supposed to be

The author said it chapter 2

That believing in God isn't hard to do

My son said Dad that isn't true

I had to agree

Now I walk up front and kneel down

Every Sunday morning when I'm in town

It might be out of habit now

It's really hard to tell

But I bring the doubts that are in my mind

But somehow in the bread and wine
