MAIN RIFF:

e ----------------------------------------------------------0----
B ---------0/1/0------------0--------------3--------------3---3--
G -----2---------2------2-----2--------2-----2--------2----------
D ---2---2------------2---2-----2----0---4-----0----0---3--------
A -0-------------------------------------------------------------
E ------------------3--------------2--------------1--------------

(Remark: On the low E-string, I use the little finger for the "3"
note, and the thumb for the "2" and "1". I also find the "4" note
quite difficult to reach, so usually I play that as a "0".)

          Am G D F
There's a lump in my throat, and an ache in my heart

        Am G D F
There's tears in my eyes, 'cause we're an ocean apart

        Am G
There's nothing quite as real as being on my own,

D F
Nothing quite as true as being all alone

     Am F
This bird has flown,

             D F
But when the summer has passed, she'll come back home

C G
Love, come wing your way,

Em F
Sweet bird of passage, come home to stay

C G
Love, come wing your way,

Em F
Sweet bird of passage, come home to lay with me, me,

G# Am
Stay with me forever

G D F Am G D F

       Am G D F
With a change of season, she flies her nest

             Am G D F
And like the sunny dusk, she sets to the west

Am G D F
Loneliness is the cross I bear, solitude is the cloak I wear

  Am G
I miss you, I need you, I love you,

         D F
When the autumn comes, I'll be waiting for you

C G
Love, come wing your way,

Em F
Sweet bird of passage, come home to stay

C G
Love, come wing your way,

Em F
Sweet bird of passage, come home to lay with me, me,

G# Am F G Em F Dm E7
Stay with me forever, and ever, and ever, and ever

Am F G Em F Dm E7 (Repeat till end)
