This is my attempt at this Cranberries Song. I'ts easy enough, just as you
would expect from The Cranberries, but it's still a great song.

When You're Gone by the Cranberries

I just bought the cd today (3/3/97) and this is my interpretation of how this song is played.
There is a capo on the 3rd fret. Corrections are welcome, and could someone post the solo?

Now that I've found you
C Am
And from above
            Em
Everything's stinking
            G
They're not around you
    C
And in the night
          Am
I could be helpless
           Em G
I could be lonely, sleeping without you
    C Am
And in the day, everything's complex
                Em G
There's nothing simple when I'm not around you

(Chorus)
      C Am
But I miss you when you're gone
        Em F
That is what I do

Hey baby
C Am
It's hard to carry on
             Em F
That is what I knew

Hey baby...

(guitar solo part, which I haven't figured out yet, if someone could please post it :)

(Verse)
C Am
Hold on to my hands
          Em
I feel I'm sinking
           G
Sinking without you
C Am
And to my mind
            Em
Everything's stinking
           G
Stinking without you
    C Am
And in the night I could be helpless
          Em G
I could be lonely, sleeping without you
     C Am
And in the day, everything's complex
               Em
There's nothing simple
               G
When I'm not around you

(Chorus)
       C Am
And I miss you when you're gone
             Em F
That is what I do

Hey baby
C Am
And it's hard to carry on
             Em F
That is what I do

Hey baby...
"When You're Gone"
 CRANBERRIES
To The Faithful Departed

At last i found it!!!!The cranberries 3rd track in the departed
album.Quite simple as it has just one main riff throughout the song.
I think it sounds right.I don't know about tunings and stuff.I just look
for the notes.Check it out.

Use fingers for the main riff.A pick is ok, but not recommended.

main riff:

-clean acoustic-
   throughout
1|-----3----3----3----3-------3----3----3----3---------------|
2|-------4----4----4----4-------4----4----4----4-------------|
3|---------3----3----3----3-------5----5----5----5-----------|
4|-----------------------------------------------------------|
5|-----------------------------------------------------------|
6|-----------------------------------------------------------|

1|-----3----3----3----3-------6----6----6----6---------------|
2|-------3----3----3----3-------6----6----6----6-------------|
3|---------3----3----3----3-------7----7----7----7-----------|
4|-----------------------------------------------------------|
5|-----------------------------------------------------------|
6|-----------------------------------------------------------|

Add the fill just before the main riff somewhere near the verse.
Hear the song and look where.

fill 1:

b=bend

1|-----------------|
2|-----------------|
3|-------7b---8----|
4|-----------------|
5|-----------------|
6|-----------------|

I think this uses a tremolo bar or a floyd.I tried a wah with an
electric but an acoustic???A point to ponder.....

fill 2:
(=push down bar/floyd/rock wah/vibrato/whatever....

1|----3(----3(----3(----6(-----|
2|----4(----4(----3(----6(-----|
3|----3(----5(----3(----7(-----|
4|-----------------------------|
5|-----------------------------|
6|-----------------------------|

Quite a simple solo.Don't expect any hammer-on pull-off skills here.
This ain't metallica or soundgarden.

solo:

~=vibrato

1|------------------------------------------------|
2|------------------------------------------------|
3|--8----6----8-----8---6---4------3----4----3----|
4|------------------------------------------------|
5|------------------------------------------------|
6|------------------------------------------------|

1|------------------------------------------------|
2|------------------------------------------------|
3|--3---4---3-----------------------------8-------|
4|--------------3~~---3---5---7---8---10----------|
5|------------------------------------------------|
6|------------------------------------------------|

That's all.Mail me for mistakes if there is any.Hope you enjoyed it!!
