She’s watching the late night TV news
Her thoughts are wandering, what’s the use?
And then it comes to her,
That it’s all gone for good
A bar of chocolate is what she needs
It’s all or nothing, a different beat
The kids are doing fine
They’re doing fine all the time

And then again she’s so lonely
And more than anyone else
Yeah again she’s so lonely
On top of everything else

She’s young, she’s beautiful and she’s smart
It’s all in place and she’s got a heart
Tomorrow who can tell, yesterday was hell
She’s not to worry, she’s in a hurry
She stands up straight, she’s not a fury
And as for words to say
They always come out the wrong way

And in a sedated dream
She suddenly reappears
Wearing high heels…
It’s showtime!

But then again she’s so lonely…
