I've lived a long life of hardship, dealt with all the burden and pain

You don't know what thats like, you lived in a world of wealth

You had the money, the connections, the picture of perfect health

I've had my battles with bottles and needles, lines, smokes, and pills

I've conquered them all one by one, and succumbed back into their fills

I can't help but think of the resource I wasted

Living a life I've both loved and hated

That money and popularity you have can't buy you a speck of respect

It can't buy you any seriousness and it'll never fill your endless emptiness
