"Nearly Lost You"
SCREAMING TREES

Fig. 1
G / / Gsus4 G A / / Asus4 A E

Fig. 2
C7 / / / E7 / / /

Fig. 3 |-------------------------|(repeat)
E D / C C7 / C G5 F C
[ I nearly... I nearly lost you there ]

Play Fig. 1 at the beginning, then Fig. 2 for the rest of the intro.
The verses alternate between Fig's 2 and 1, and Fig. 3 is for the
chorus. (Only the part designated by the dashed line repeats.)
Slashes mean to hit the same chord again. The spacing of the letters
in NO WAY represents the timing of the song! The only way to get it
right is to listen to the tape.

Switching between the major and sustained chords in Fig. 1 is very
difficult -- I recommend using your pinky to barre the 3rd and 4th
strings. This takes some work!

Here is an example of the fills the guitarist throws in during the end
part of Fig. 1 (the other ones are just variations on this theme).

[E] E7
--------10--10-----------------------------------------
--10h12--------10--12--------10h12-10h12-10--8h10p8----
----------------------------------------------------9--
-------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------

And on your way into Fig. 3....

[E] D C
--------------------
--8-------7---\(5)--
-----9\7-----7\-5---
--------------------
--------------------
--------------------

If there's anything I have left out (OTHER than the variations on
these fills and unimpressive solo), or if I have screwed anything up,
or if you have any questions, feel free to e-mail. (I'm doing this at
work without the benefit of my guitar OR my CD!)

Key:
  h = hammer-on
  p = pull-off
  \ = slide down
 () = optional/shadow note
