Unfortunately their most overlooked album. Although the guys themselves say that they're not overly fond of their work here, I still found it as the most original and explosive work they've done since Blood Sugar Sex Magik. From the balls out rock of 'Warped' and 'Shallow be thy name' to the softer sensual tracks like 'My friends' and 'Tearjerker' (the latter an ode to Kurt Cobain) this album has a great eclectic mix, and although John Frusciante's contribution to this band is incomparable to his heir and predeccesor Dave Navarro, I think it's quite a shame Navarro's skills on this album are buried into the annals of rock history.They also pull out some epic songs that they're not really known for like 'Deep Kick' and 'Transcending' (River Pheonix's eulogy) that fit in really well and don't overwhelm or lose the listener. Rounding the genre jumping masterpiece are songs like Aeroplane (pop), the acid rock tribal offerings of 'Coffee Shop', 'One Big Mob', 'One Hot Minute', the funk stylings of 'Walkabout' and 'Falling into Grace', and of course the anti-Republican busking of 'Pea'.A definite must-have for any self described Peppers fan.
