Song: "Masquerade" Artist: Reality Check Album: Reality Check Tab by: Evan Dickens E-mail: kidfab@place2b.org Someone (whose identity I still don't know) sent me a CD about five months ago. It had a picture of a dog on it. It was called Reality Check, and it had three songs on it. A yellow post-it note was attached with five words: "These Guys Will Be HUGE". I played it a couple times, kinda liked the funkiness of it, then put it aside. Then I noticed that everyone and their uncle was buying the brand new full-length CD by a group called Reality Check. It suddenly dawned on me that these bands were *gasp* one and the same! I have since come to realize that these guys ROCK. This is their first single, currently in the Top 5 of the rock charts as I write this (8/1/97), and one of the coolest songs on the album. Pretty easy to play. Enjoy. All chords are power chords. I'm not sure that's the way they are on the album, but it'll sound the same and be easier to play. INTRO (acoustic): D B C G D B C Repeat intro with distortion. The only guitar during the rapping verses is some little funk riff that I have no clue about. This is where I could use some assistance, all you funk wizards out there. :) VERSE 1: D B C G And I wonder if you've ever seen D B Life through the eyes of one who C G Understands what it means to be free D B C G Freedom comes when you can let it go D B G But I guess you wouldn't know CHORUS: G Bb It's such a shame, the game you play C Congratulations, you're invited to the masquerade G Bb C I'd like to know what lies behind the mask you've made VERSE 2: More rapping. Funkiness to the max, man. ;) D B C G And I wonder what you're gonna do D B C When your disguise comes crashing down G And your self comes shining through D B C G Are you gonna hide your face? D B G Or let it rest in the hands of grace That's about it. Oh yeah, the chords. D - (x577--) B - (x244--) C - (x355--) G - (355---) Bb - (x133--) Well, I hope you get some use out of this tab. Please e-mail me at kidfab@place2b.org if you do, and PLEASE drop me a line if you can see a way this tab can be improved. God Bless! ~kidfab~
