This is the real version of faint, direct from brad delson: Most, if not all LP songs are in drop D down 1/2 step. in other words the low E is now a C# and the rest are down 1/2 step. Chorus - Guitar 1 (Brad) E----------------------------------------------- B----------------------------------------------- G 7-7-7-7-7-7-7-14-12-12-12-12-12-12-14-10-10-10 D xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx x4 A 5-5-5-5-5-5-5-12-10-10-10-10-10-10-12-8- 8- 8- E----------------------------------------------- Chorus - Guitar 2 (Mike) (come in 3 beats after G1 because the first 3 beats are intro) E---------------------------------------------------------------- B---------------------------------------------------------------- G---------------------------------------------------------------- D---------------------------------------------------------------- x2 A---0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-5-5-5-7-3-3-3 E---0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-5-5-5-7-3-3-3 Verse - Guitar 1 (Brad) (Listen to the song to hear where you play the chords) E----------------------------------------- B----------------------------------------- G----------------------------------------- D----------------------------------------- A-0-0-------0-0------0-0------8-8------5-5 E-0-0-------0-0------0-0------8-8------5-5 Bridge (both guitars I think) E------------ B------------ G------------ D---2-------- x8 A-0-0-3-2-3-2 E-0---3-2-3-2 every other time, add a pause, then play the last chord again before going back to the beginning. Listen to the song, you'll see what I mean. Closing - Guitar 1 add this to the end of the chorus riff to close the song: E--------------------- B--------------------- G--------------------- D-10-10-10-10-10-8-8-8 A-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx E-8- 8- 8- 8- 8- 6-6-6 Closing- Guitar 2 Again, add to the end of the chorus riff: E---------------- B---------------- G---------------- D---------------- A-3-3-3-3-3-1-1-1 E-3-3-3-3-3-1-1-1 If you see them live, this is how they play it. Also I read an interview in a guitar mag with brad that had this tab. The best way to play Mike's part is just to lay your 1st finger across the fret instead of using your 1st and 2nd. Use the other fingers to mute the rest of the strings. On his, try experimenting with adding the same fingering on the D String.
