Jennifer Hudson - One Shining Moment lyrics
About this lyric:
One Shining Moment by Jennifer Hudson, Music Lyrics and Video
One Shining Moment is an inspirational song written by David Barrett about the Men's College Basketball Championship (at the end of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament).
Barrett was the original artist, but CBS has also broadcast remakes by Teddy Pendergrass (1994-1999) and Luther Vandross (2003-2009). It is believed to be the last song Vandross recorded before his stroke and subsequent death. A new version by Jennifer Hudson will be unveiled for the 2010 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.
Barrett thinks that changing the singer every few years keeps the song fresh. "A lot of younger folks, they have their singers. And Jennifer is their singer. And she's wonderful."
"One Shining Moment" is traditionally played at the end of CBS Sports' coverage of the championship game of the tournament. The song is played as the winning team's players cut down the nets, to a montage of highlights from the tournament.

The ball is tipped and there you are you're running for your life you're a shooting star And all the years no one knows just how hard you worked but now it shows... (in) One Shining Moment it's all on the line One Shining Moment there frozen in time. But time is short and the road is long in the blinking of an eye ah that moment's gone And when it's done win or lose you always did your best cuz inside you knew... (that) One Shining Moment you reached deep inside One Shining Moment you knew you were alive! Feel the beat of your heart feel the wind in your face it's more than a contest it's more than a race... And when it's done win or lose you always did your best cuz inside you knew... (that) One Shining Moment you reached for the sky One Shining Moment, you knew One Shining Moment, you were willing to try One Shining Moment... One Shining Moment... One Shining Moment!
